Whop alternative for paid Telegram communities
MyMembers is built only for paid Telegram channels and groups. It charges a 5% commission with no monthly fee, and subscribers pay you directly through your own Stripe account, so there is no balance to withdraw. Whop is a general platform with its own checkout: it lists a processing fee of 2.7% + $0.30 per successful domestic card payment, and its Telegram app adds a 3% fee to any product that uses it. Whop’s 3% is lower than MyMembers’ standard 5%. Which one costs less in total depends on what Stripe charges on your own account, and the examples below show the arithmetic.

What Whop and MyMembers cost as your sales grow
What each service charges you in one month, from a month with no sales up to $10,000. The two figures are not the same kind of number: the Whop figure includes card processing, and the MyMembers figure does not, because Stripe charges that on your own account.
What the examples assume
- Every member pays $20 a month, so $500 is 25 payments, $2,000 is 100 payments and $10,000 is 500 payments.
- All Whop payments are domestic cards, with no optional add-ons and no payout fees counted. International cards, currency conversion and payouts add to the Whop figure.
- We read the 3% Telegram app fee as charged on top of the 2.7% + $0.30 processing fee. Both numbers are from Whop’s own pages.
- MyMembers is 5% of sales, the standard rate. Stripe’s processing fee depends on your country and card type, so it is shown as a separate item without a number.
- Smart Recovery is an optional win-back service. It is on by default for new pages, you can turn it off, and it costs 20% of the subscription revenue it recovers. The examples here leave it out.

Selling at high volume? Ask for a lower rate

- On the fee for Telegram access alone, Whop is lower at every level: 3% against the standard 5%.
- On the total, it depends on Stripe. In these examples Whop’s listed fees come to 7.2% of sales, card processing included, so MyMembers costs less in total when Stripe charges you less than 2.2% of sales. If your Stripe rate is close to Whop’s 2.7% + $0.30, Whop costs less in total at every level shown.
- With MyMembers, payments go to your own Stripe account and Stripe pays out to you. Whop lists payout fees that depend on the method, for example $2.50 for next-day ACH, 4% + $1.00 for instant bank deposit and $23.00 for a bank wire. None of those are counted above.
- Whop’s figure also rises with international cards (plus 1.5%), currency conversion (plus 1%) and enabled add-ons. None of those are counted above either. Stripe has its own charges for international cards and currency conversion on your account.
- Every MyMembers figure here uses the standard 5% rate. MyMembers offers custom pricing for high-volume sellers: the commission percentage can go down. It is agreed individually, and there is no published rate or threshold.
When MyMembers is the better choice

- Your community runs on Telegram only and you want a tool built around Telegram channels and groups.
- You want help winning back members who cancel. Smart Recovery is optional and you pay only for subscriptions it recovers.

- You want chat, forums, courses, events or Discord access in one place, with Telegram as one part of the offer.
- You want many payment methods at checkout, or pay-over-time financing for expensive products.

common questions
On the platform fee alone, no: Whop’s Telegram app fee is 3% and MyMembers’ standard rate is 5%. On the total, it depends on what Stripe charges you. Whop lists 2.7% + $0.30 per domestic card payment, card processing included, and we read the 3% as charged on top. With $20 payments that comes to 7.2% of sales, for example $36.00 on $500. MyMembers is 5% plus Stripe’s own processing fee on your account, so MyMembers costs less in total when Stripe charges you less than 2.2% of sales, which is $11.00 on $500. MyMembers has no payout fees, because the money goes straight to your own Stripe account.
The main reasons are where the money goes and what the tool is built for. With MyMembers, payments land in your own Stripe account and Stripe pays out to you, so there is no balance to withdraw and no payout fee. MyMembers is built only for paid Telegram channels and groups, has no monthly fee and gives every creator the same features. High-volume sellers can agree a lower commission. If price is your only measure, compare the totals for your own country and payout method.
