Sell coaching on Telegram with a paid group

A paid Telegram group puts your clients, your programme and your check-ins in an app they already open every day.

Clients pay you directly through your own Stripe account. MyMembers manages who is in the group: the bot invites clients when they pay and removes them when their subscription ends.

Who this is for

  • Personal trainers and fitness coaches running online programmes.
  • Nutrition coaches who work through weekly check-ins.
  • Running, cycling and strength coaches with a training group.
  • Business, career and mindset coaches who want a group that keeps going between calls.
The model

How a paid coaching group works

Front door

A free public channel

Use a public channel for the things that show how you coach: a weekly workout, a form tip, one client question answered in full. It gives people a reason to follow you before they are ready to pay.

The product

A paid channel or group

For coaching, the paid product is usually a group and not a channel, because clients need to talk back. A common setup is a private channel for the programme and announcements plus a private group for check-ins and questions, both unlocked by the same plan.

The promise

What members get

Spell out the rhythm: when the week’s plan is posted, which day check-ins are due, how fast you answer questions and whether calls are included. Coaching is sold on attention, so say how much of yours a member gets.

Setup

Set up your paid coaching group

Most coaches have this running in one sitting. Have your Telegram group created before you start.

  1. 1

    Connect Stripe

Go through onboarding and connect your own Stripe account. Client payments go straight to it.

  2. 2

    Create your page

Your page lives at mymembers.io/yourname. Describe who the coaching is for and what a normal week looks like. Add a welcome message, shown after checkout, that tells new clients what to do first.

  3. 3

    Connect your group

Add @mymembersadminbot to your private group as an admin with full admin rights. Do the same for a programme channel if you use one.

Telegram: group administrators(opens in a new tab)
  4. 4

    Add a plan

Set the price, choose a billing interval in weeks, months or years, and choose which group and channel the plan unlocks.

  5. 5

    Invite your current clients first

Send the page link to the people you already coach, then share it on your public channel and social profiles.

Pricing

Pricing patterns for coaching

Coaching prices vary too much by niche to quote a number. The structure is the part worth getting right.

Monthly membership

The simplest model for ongoing coaching. Clients stay as long as the group helps them.

Billed every 3 months

Matches a 12 week training block and renews into the next one.

Group and premium tiers

A group plan, and a higher plan that also unlocks a smaller group where you give individual feedback.

Discounted first payment

A lower first month reduces the risk of trying you out, without giving the first week away.

Free trial days

Works when your group is active enough to show its value in a few days. Skip it if week one is mostly onboarding.

What to deliver so clients stay

In a coaching group, clients leave when the coach goes quiet. The price is rarely the reason.

Answer when you said you would
If your page says questions are answered within a day, hold to it. Set hours you can keep for a year, not for the launch week.
Give the week a shape
Plan posted on the same day, check-ins due on the same day, feedback back by a set time. Clients build the habit around your schedule.
Onboard in the first two days
A new client should know where the programme is, how to check in and what to do today. Pin a start-here post and greet people by name.
Do not sell results you cannot promise
The acceptable use policy forbids false or misleading claims and invented reviews. Describe the work and the support, not a guaranteed outcome.
Know where coaching stops
Fitness and nutrition coaching is not medical care. Say so, and send clients with injuries or medical conditions to a qualified professional.
Share only what is yours
Programmes, meal plans and videos you post must be your own or licensed to you. Selling content you do not hold the rights to breaks the policy.

What it costs

MyMembers charges a 5% commission on each sale. There is no monthly fee, and the fee is invoiced monthly for the previous month. If you sell at high volume, we agree a lower rate with you. Payments go straight to your own Stripe account, where Stripe's own processing fees apply.

Smart Recovery, an optional service that tries to win back members who cancel or fail to renew, is on by default for new pages. You pay for it only when a member is recovered: 20% of the revenue it recovers, as set out in the terms. You can turn it off in your page settings.
