How to add the MyMembers bot to a Telegram channel
Short answer
Open the "Channels" tab of your page, click "Connect Telegram Channel", add @mymembersadminbot to your channel or group as an administrator with full admin rights, and send the 8-digit activation code as a normal message there.
Connect a channel or group
- In your dashboard open "My Pages" and click "Manage" on your page, then the "Channels" tab.
- Click "Connect Telegram Channel" (or "Add Channel"), enter a display name and click "Next: Connect".
- In Telegram, add @mymembersadminbot to your channel or group as an administrator with full admin rights.
- Copy the 8-digit activation code shown in the dashboard and send it as a normal message in the channel or group.
The dashboard detects the code within a few seconds and connects automatically. Both channels and groups work, private or public.
Channel or group?
Use a channel if only you post and members read. Use a group if you want members to chat with each other. MyMembers works the same way with both, and one page can include several channels and groups.
How members join
Each member gets personal join-request links. When they request to join through their own link, the MyMembers bot approves it automatically and the link is then used up. This protects your channel from shared links and cannot be turned off.
Requests that come through other invite links, ones you created yourself in Telegram, are not handled by the bot. You approve those manually.
Keep the bot as an administrator
The bot must keep full admin rights to add and remove members. If it loses them, you get a Telegram alert titled "Action Required: Bot Permissions".
