What happens when a subscriber stops paying?

Short answer

A member whose payment fails keeps access while Stripe retries the payment. When a subscription has ended, MyMembers removes the member from your Telegram channel or group automatically. Subscriptions are checked every 30 minutes.

When a payment fails

The member keeps access while Stripe retries the payment. If payment still fails, the subscription ends and the member is removed from the channel automatically.

The member can update their card under "My Orders" > "Manage" before the subscription ends, or subscribe again on your page afterwards.

When a member cancels

A member who cancels keeps access until the end of the period they already paid for, and is removed after that. In your members list they appear under "Cancelling" until then.

If you cancel a member yourself and choose "Cancel immediately", the member is removed right away.

When a member leaves the channel

Leaving the Telegram channel does not cancel the subscription. The member keeps being billed until they cancel under "My Orders" or you cancel it for them.

People the bot does not remove

The bot only manages people who joined through their MyMembers link. Anyone you added manually, who joined through your own Telegram invite link, or who was there before you connected MyMembers is not tracked and must be removed by you in Telegram.

If members are not being removed

Check that the bot still has full admin rights in the channel or group. If it loses them, you get a Telegram alert titled "Action Required: Bot Permissions".

Winning members back

If Smart Recovery is enabled on the page, a member who clicks cancel is offered a discount, and members who have left receive win-back emails with an offer.
